BEARCATS/STARS WIN FRIDAY MATCHUPS:
Kearney Catholic and Kearney High handled business on Friday, as the Stars improved to 4-1 with a win over Amherst and the Bearcats remain undefeated winning at North Platte.

BACKUP QUARTERBACKS TO START FOR NEBRASKA/LA TECH:
Per a source and story from ESPN, Nebraska and Louisiana Tech will both likely start their backup quarterbacks for their Saturday afternoon matchup today in Lincoln.
The Huskers’ Heinrich Haarberg will receive his second start as incumbent Jeff Sims’ ankle injury limited him in practices this week. According to the report, Sims will be dressed and available.

NEBRASKA VOLLEYBALL POWERS OVER OHIO STATE:
The No. 2 Nebraska volleyball team rolled along with a 25-14, 25-16, 25-21 sweep of No. 21 Ohio State on Friday night in front of a packed house of 8,711 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The crowd set a new attendance mark for the Huskers at the Devaney Center since moving into the arena in 2013.
The Huskers (10-0) swept the Buckeyes (3-7) for the first time since 2019. Nebraska hit .333 on the night and held Ohio State to .090, the seventh opponent Nebraska has held under .100 this season. Nebraska is off to its best start to a season since 2016.
Nebraska hosts No. 12 Minnesota on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
LOPER VOLLEYBALL MOVES PAST PITTSBURG:
Senior outside Emersen Cyza and sophomore middle Trista Marx combined for 24 kills to help 10th-ranked Nebraska Kearney fight off Pittsburg State in four sets Friday night at the Health & Sports Center.
The Lopers (13-1, 3-1) pick up its 20th straight win over the Gorillas (5-6, 1-2) with the two meeting again October 21 in Kansas.
UNK finishes up a four-match homestand Tuesday night vs. Fort Hays State. The Tigers (6-6, 0-3) host Pitt on Saturday afternoon.
