Figure Drawing – Clothed and Draped Studies
August 7 | 6:30 -8:30 PM
Cost: $15 members / $20 non-members

Work from a live model and enhance your figure drawing skills. Participants will have the opportunity to draw the human figure in an open studio format. Models will either be clothed or draped.
Each workshop begins with short poses for gestures and sketches, followed by longer poses, with a final pose for completed drawings.
Open to all skill levels, the focus of this workshop is to practice proportion, gesture, movement, and perspective.
No Instruction
Open to individuals ages 15 and up
Easels, benches, boards, and tables are provided. Please bring drawing paper/sketchbooks and drawing materials of your choice.

Writing from the Wall: Creative Writing at MONA with Dorothy Miller

How can visual art inspire writing? How can writing enhance the way we see? Join Dorothy Miller, retired English and creative writing teacher, to help answer these and other questions by exploring the connections between art, the observer, and the written word. Participants will experiment with different creative writing genres while engaging in close observations of selected artwork, imaginative responses to writing prompts, and shared discussions. All skill levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook and preferred writing tools. Stools will be provided by MONA. No prior experience with art, art history, or writing is required.

Pottery Basics: Hand Building and Wheel Throwing with Javier Fox
