GRAND ISLAND – The Kearney Catholic volleyball team has been on the hunt the past few matches, taking down one of the top teams in Class B’s Bennington over the weekend and now stuffing GICC on their homecourt on Tuesday.

The Stars controlled the first set scoring seven in a row to close the first set. Kearney Catholic kept that energy up all evening, as the match drew late in the night but the Stars earned a big regional win in four sets over the Crusaders.

Kearney Catholic (16-2) now travels to Ord on Thursday while GICC (16-2) is at another tough draw against Adams Central.
