KEARNEY SOFTBALL FALLS TO ISLANDERS AT HOME:
The first three innings of Wednesday’s Kearney/Grand Island softball game didn’t have much momentum, but then the Islanders took charge in the middle innings, winning 7-2 over the Bearcats.
Grand Island would score one run in the fourth inning, followed by three runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings. Kearney would score runs in the sixth and seventh innings after finally being able to catch their stride late in the contest.
Grand Island improves to 9-20, and will compete next in the HAC Tournament. The Bearcat softball team now sits at 9-17, and will face Lincoln Southeast Thursday.

Brenda Tracy, the activist and rape survivor, said Tucker sexually harassed her during the phone call in April 2022. Several months later, Tracy filed a complaint with the school’s Title IX office.
