GRAND ISLAND – A 36-year-old Loup City man was arrested Nov. 14 after gaming machines were damaged at the Wash House, 2323 N. Webb Road.
Grand Island police arrested Jesse Gilmore of Loup City, said Grand Island Police Division Chief Dean Elliott. Gilmore is accused of damaging gaming machines at the location and taking cash from them.
Video footage from the location showed a man with a specific description and clothing with a pry bar at the business. Approximately $100 in cash was taken. Gilmore left the scene of the incident. Because of police recognition of his license plate, his vehicle was located at Wood River Road and Highway 281 at the Bosselman Travel Center, Elliott said.
The vehicle matching the description was found at the scene. A witness gave a physical description of the driver of the vehicle. Police went inside the Travel Center and found a man matching the description. The witness then positively identified the man. Pry tools were found in a backpack that the suspect had.
Gilmore was also involved in another case where a 2003 Chevy Tahoe was stolen from 1423 Johnstown Road between Nov. 1 and Nov. 13.
Gilmore was arrested for theft up to $500, possession of burglar’s tools, criminal mischief greater than $5,000, theft up to $500 for a license plate theft, and vehicle theft ($1,500 to $4,999)
