AXTELL — The Alzheimer’s Association proudly recognizes the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students from the Axtell, Nebraska Chapter for their leadership, compassion, and dedication to service.

These students volunteered at the Kearney Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 12 and continued their efforts by organizing a fundraiser after the event. Through their hard work, they raised over $1,700 to support Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

Tara Smith, advisor for Axtell FBLA, said, “While planning our fundraiser and participating in the Kearney Walk, several members shared with me a family member affected by Alzheimer’s. I think it was eye-opening to some members to see people they know being affected by Alzheimer’s. Our student body and community pulled together for the fundraiser, and we were able to collect $1,700.”

Reflecting on the students’ achievements, Smith added, “It means a lot to me as an advisor seeing my FBLA members care about a cause and work together to make a difference. Axtell FBLA members did a wonderful job planning and executing a successful fundraiser, but we could not have done it without student body support and the Axtell community support.”

Ashley Shum, Fundraising Manager at the Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter, said, “Axtell FBLA has shown tremendous heart. Their commitment to supporting families affected by Alzheimer’s is inspiring, and we’re grateful for the difference they’re making.”

The Alzheimer’s Association thanks the Axtell FBLA Chapter for their dedication and generosity. Their efforts reflect the true spirit of service and provide hope to the millions of Americans living with Alzheimer’s and their families.
