CASS CO. — On Dec. 27, 2025, Cass County deputies responded to reports of a house explosion in the 32000 block of Highway 1. Multiple fire agencies were dispatched to extinguish the fire and secure the area to protect public safety.
Upon arrival, emergency responders observed extensive structural damage to the residence. Tragically, one individual, an 86-year-old female, was found deceased inside the home. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from local fire departments and Cass County deputies.
There is no immediate threat to the public at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
