GRAND ISLAND – Grand Island police arrested a 46-year-old Grand Island man on several charges Dec. 29 including felony possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of cocaine after conducting a traffic stop.
According to a Grand Island police report, Michael J. Lambert was arrested and booked into the Hall County Jail.
Police Division Chief Dean Elliott said police received a tip about a vehicle with fictitious license plates. Police located the vehicle, and the driver was known to law enforcement, he said.
Lambert didn’t use a turn signal, and police attempted to stop the car. Lambert continued driving for several blocks before he stopped the vehicle. Police conducted a “high-risk traffic stop.” Lambert was non-compliant with police and was arrested.
Lambert was also arrested for failure to use a turn signal, misdemeanor no operator’s license, misdemeanor flight to avoid arrest, misdemeanor obstructing a police officer, and possessing less than 1 ounce of marijuana, which is an infraction.
