GRAND ISLAND – Grand Island’s EPIC Discover Center is featured in an article in forbes.com about new museums opening in 2026.
EPIC Discovery Center posted on its Facebook page on Jan. 14 that the article highlights museums opening in 2026 in places like Los Angeles, Fort Worth, and Charlotte.
“We’re incredibly honored and proud to be listed in a publication with more than 50 million monthly viewers,” the Facebook post said. The forbes.com article was posted on Jan. 10.
“With the first work in its name referring to Explore Possibilities. Inspire Creativity,” this new children’s museum in Nebraska’s Grand Island is designed to spark curiosity through hands-on STEAM learning for those up to age 18. This offering is also geared for the adults, who inevitably will join in the fun,” the forbes.com article said.
Standout elements at the museum are interactive exhibits including planned rotating components built for play-based learning across science, tech, engineering, art and math (STEAM).
EPIC Discovery Center staff received keys to the building, the former Armory building at 2900 W. Old Potash Highway, in December 2025. The museum will open in the spring of 2026. EPIC will primarily serve youth from birth to age 18.
According to the EPIC Discovery Center’s website, its goal is to raise $14.2 million. To date, the museum is $2.9 million away from reaching its goal
