KEARNEY — Texas T-Bone plans to open a new location on the south side of Kearney in the early fall.
Talmadge Jam, LLC, was recently approved for TIF financing for the construction of a one-story restaurant building located just south of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and east of the SportsPlex.
Rey Lopez, the owner and manager of the Texas T-Bone, said the Texas T-Bone will open at the location in the Younes Hospitality Complex.
Construction at the location has started and the plan is to open by early fall, Lopez said.
Texas T-Bone has been located in Grand Island since 1996, it was the second location of the chain that was first founded in Colorado Springs, Colo in 1994. Other locations include Hutchison, Kan.
Lopez has been a part owner for 14 years and in 2024 took over full ownership with his wife.
Texas T-Bone offers a variety of steaks including T-Bone, ribeye, New York strip, sirloin and mignon. Other offerings include create your own salad, homemade coleslaw, burgers, sandwiches, barbeque and a number of appetizers.
