G.I. man sentenced to prison for third-degree sexual assault on a child

GRAND ISLAND – A Grand Island man has been sentenced in Hall County District Court to 3 years in prison for felony third-degree sexual assault on a child.

Hall County District Judge Patrick Lee sentenced Jonathan Cruz Lopez, 34, of 383 N. Lincoln.

Cruz Lopez has pleaded no contest to the charge. In exchange, another third-degree sexual assault on a child for a May 22, 2025, incident, and a felony child abuse charge for a May 22, 2025, incident were dismissed.

Cruz Lopez was convicted of a charge for incident(s) that occurred between Jan. 1, 2024, and Dec. 9, 2024.
