COZAD — A structure fire occurred at the Haymaker Haven housing unit in Cozad during the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 31.
Around 2:30 a.m., the Cozad Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 421 W. 9th St. in Cozad for the report of a structure fire at Haymaker Haven, a 40-unit housing complex that is operated by the Cozad Housing Authority.
Smoke damage was reported throughout several apartments on the row involved. Several residents were displaced and lodged in area motels.
Cozad firefighters were on scene until 6:45 a.m.
