KEARNEY — The Kearney High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) officer team earned an impressive 3rd place overall at the Loper Business Invitational, held today and featuring competitors from 23 schools across the region.

In addition to the strong team finish, several KHS students received individual honors for their outstanding performances in competitive events:

• Gradyn Pearson – 3rd Place in Accounting; 4th Place in Entrepreneurship
• Dax Vance – 3rd Place in Economics
• Katherine Steele – 2nd Place in Business Communications
• Tegan Heuck – 3rd Place in Intro to Information Technology

“The Nebraska Council on Economic Education and Alyse Pflanz always make the Loper Business Invitational one of our favorite events of the year,” said Kaylei Becker, Kearney High School FBLA advisor. “This competition is an incredible opportunity for our officers to prepare for the State Conference in April, as it gives them an early preview of what their events and tests may look like. Miss Kalkwarf and I are extremely proud of how our team performed, both individually and collectively. With 23 schools competing and our chapter bringing just six competitors, we were thrilled with the level of success our students achieved. We are truly lucky to have such a dedicated and hardworking group of FBLA officers this year, and we can’t wait to see that dedication and hardwork continue to shine throughout the rest of our competitive season.”

The Loper Business Invitational challenges students through a series of rigorous business-focused events designed to test knowledge, problem-solving skills, and real-world application. The Kearney High School FBLA officer team’s success reflects their commitment to excellence in business education and leadership development.
