CENTRAL CITY — Jacob Zeiss, a teacher at Central City Elementary School has been named to IXL’s Elite 100 List. The list recognizes teachers who demonstrated exceptional innovation, creativity, and dedication to helping students reach new heights.

Zeiss uses the personalized action plans generated after each LevelUp assessment to move from testing to teaching. These plans focus every student on exactly what they need to master next to grow, and allow Jacob to support each child at his or her own pace.

“One student started the year below grade level, so we implemented interventions based on their action plan,” Zeiss shared. “As a result, this student made significant progress, and by the end of the year, they were tackling material beyond grade level.”

Each year IXL Learning, the largest edtech company in the U.S., recognizes the top 100 teachers out of 1 million worldwide that use its platform. Jacob made this year’s list because of their efforts in helping students succeed academically and using IXL to engage learners on a deeper level with day-to-day instruction.

This is Jacob’s first time making the list.
