GRAND ISLAND — Darrel Stanard has announced his candidacy as a Republican for Hall County Assessor, bringing decades of appraisal experience and a commitment to fairness, consistency, and taxpayer service to the race.

Stanard has more than 35 years of appraisal experience and is both a licensed appraiser and a certified assessor in the State of Nebraska. Over the course of his career, he has worked with the Hall County Assessor’s Office for more than 25 years, valuing residential, commercial, and agricultural properties throughout the county.

Currently, there are no licensed appraisers within the Hall County Assessor’s Office. Stanard says his professional licensure and decades of field experience will strengthen the office’s technical expertise and credibility.

“My intention is to make the Assessor’s Office more dependable, so taxpayers can come in, ask questions, get answers, and receive help whenever they have an issue,” Stanard said. “We may not always be able to lower a valuation, but we can ensure people understand the process and how we arrived at the value of their property.”

As a certified assessor, Stanard has met Nebraska’s state testing requirements and completes ongoing continuing education to maintain his credentials. He says his experience across all property classes uniquely prepares him to serve Hall County.

“If elected as your Hall County Assessor, my objective would be to ensure consistency and equalization with our taxpayers in all classes of property – agricultural, residential, and commercial,” Stanard said.

Stanard emphasized the importance of hands-on leadership and community visibility.
“We need boots on the ground. I’ll be out in the field, working with taxpayers and looking at properties. I’m not going to sit at a desk all day. I’ll be out in the field,” he said.

Stanard also announced that Aura Molina is partnering with him in this campaign effort and, if elected, will serve as Chief Deputy Assessor under his leadership.

Molina holds her Nebraska assessor’s certificate and brings experience from the Hall County Attorney’s Office, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, and private-sector human resources.

“I was running for Assessor, but I withdrew from the ballot because I wanted to work with Darrel Stanard,* Molina said. “He has more experience, and I’m going to help him on this important journey to serve our community.”

Molina is bilingual and known for her strong focus on customer service. These are essential qualities in a public-facing office serving a diverse and growing community. Stanard says her ability to communicate clearly with Spanish-speaking residents and her commitment to responsive service will enhance the office’s accessibility.

Together, Stanard and Molina say they are committed to ensuring the Assessor’s Office is accessible, professionally staffed, field-focused, and dedicated to fairness for every taxpayer in Hall County.
