KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Utilities Department announces that 31st Street between Central Avenue and A Avenue will be closed beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9 to allow for water service work.
Due to this closure, and the existing closure of A Avenue, north of 31st Street, the following temporary traffic changes will be in place:
• Westbound traffic on 31st Street will be required to turn south onto Avenue A.
• Northbound traffic on Avenue A will be required to turn east onto 31st Street.
The 31st Steet is expected to reopen by Monday, March 23, weather and construction permitting.
Motorists are advised to use caution in the area, follow posted detour signs, and allow additional travel time.
The City of Kearney appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this necessary infrastructure work.
