Interstate 80, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — Weather permitting, work will begin March 23 on Interstate 80 (I-80) near reference post 269.04, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Paul Reed Construction & Supply, Inc., of Gering, is the contractor for this project. Work includes patching and asphalt overlay in the eastbound rest area west of Kearney. The rest area will be closed through construction beginning March 20. Traffic will be maintained with a right-lane closure as needed.
Anticipated completion is April 2026.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
