ROME, GA. – The pairings have been set for the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup in Rome, Ga.

Nebraska Kearney senior Jazmin Zamorano (Mexico) and freshman Maksym Kulish (Ukraine) are taking part in the national singles and doubles double-elimination tournament. The event begins on Thursday (Oct. 12) and runs until Sunday (Oct. 17).

Zamorano, the Central Region singles champ, will square off against second-seeded Nadja Meier of Flagler (Fla.) College at 10 a.m. Central. Meier is a senior from Germany who began her career at Division I Georgia Southern. At the end of the 2022-23 season, she was ranked 15th in D2.

The Zamorano/Meier winner advances to face either Selina Wu (St. Mary, Texas) or Lexie Weier (Nova Southeastern, Fla.) who are both unseeded. That match is set for Friday at 10 a.m. The Zamorano/Meier loser falls to the consolation bracket.

Kulish will face unseeded Takeshi Taco from Valdosta (Ga.) State at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Taco is a junior from Peru who previously played at Cowley (Kan.) C.C.

The Kulish/Taco winner moves on to Friday at 11 a.m. to face either Nico Ramirez (Biola U., Calif.) or second-seeded Ruben Fonga (Tiffin U., Ohio). The loser moves to the consolation bracket.
