GRAND ISLAND – The Northwest Vikings and Hastings Tigers won their first round matches in the B-7 Sub-District tournament to meet up for the title on Wednesday night at Northwest High School.
Northwest (20-12) took down Lexington (5-27) with ease, sweeping the Minutemaids 25-13, 25-9, and 26-24.
Hastings (14-18) had a tougher challenge against McCook (10-23) as the Tigers had to pull off the reverse sweep winning 3-2 at Northwest High School. Hastings won the match 23-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-16, and 15-7.
The B-7 Sub-District championship match is set for Wednesday night at Northwest High School with first serve set for 6 PM.
