MERRICK CO. – A two-vehicle accident occurred in Merrick County this past weekend.
On Saturday Dec. 30, Merrick County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an accident at Highway 92 and Highway 14 junction.
A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a southbound silver 2007 Toyota traveling on Highway 14 became distracted and failed to stop at a stop sign at the junction of Highway 92. The Toyota then collided with an eastbound gray 2018 Ford Explorer traveling on Highway 92.
MSCO says there were four occupants in the Ford explorer, who all used seatbelts. Airbags deployed in both vehicles.
The driver of the Toyota was issued citation for violation of a stop sign. Minor injuries were reported, but all occupants refused medical attention. Alcohol was not suspected.
