KEARNEY — The Kearney Police Department is investigating after a stolen vehicle was reported and later crashed while officers were responding to the call.
The Kearney Police Department (KPD) said there was a report of a vehicle in the area of Grand Avenue. While responding, the stolen vehicle crashed around 33rd St. and I Ave.
The stolen vehicle was being followed at a high rate of speed by the vehicle’s owner in another vehicle.
The driver of the stolen vehicle ran from the crash scene but was quickly arrested by the responding officers.
The suspect was transported to CHI Good Samaritan hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the crash.
