ST. PAUL, NE –  The St. Paul Volunteer Fire Department responded to an early morning Monday structure fire.

According to SPVFD Facebook, firefighters were dispatched just before midnight Monday to a structure fire at 7th and L street in St. Paul.

Residents were seen out of the home and had evacuated before fire crews arrived. Firefighters began working on the fire. SPVFD says crews faced extreme cold and icy conditions and were on scene for about three hours. A family cat was recued from the fire.

Mutual aid was provided from Farwell Volunteer Fire Department ,  Elba Fire & Rescue, Saint Libory Nebraska Fire & EMS, Boelus Fire & Rescue, Dannebrog Fire Department, Howard County Sheriff’s Office and St. Paul Police Department of Nebraska.
