KEARNEY – Two Kearney Catholic Stars football alums appear ready to shine on the gridiron for two Nebraska Division II programs.

Carson Murphy and Garrett O’Hare officially put pen to paper today, signing on the dotted line for their commitments to the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Chadron State Football, respectively.

Murphy will sign on to UNK’s football program as a safety, joining the “Chaos Tempo” defense under coordinator Tim Schaffner and head coach Ryan Held.

O’Hare projects as an offensive lineman for the Eagles, and cited his excitement to move to the Nebraska Panhandle. Hear more from O’Hare’s signing day here.

Currently, the Lopers and Eagles are not scheduled to play each other in the coming seasons. However, due to the changes in Division II college football and the MIAA conference schedule, UNK and Chadron State could play in the future for a Week Zero contest.
