GRAND ISLAND – Debb Axtell Schultz, 73, of Grand Island, who just withdrew from the Grand Island mayor’s race, has filed for U.S. Senate.
Schultz, a Republican, will face incumbent Pete Ricketts. Other Republican candidates are Todd Knobel and Mac Stevens. Democrat William J. Forbes and Cindy Burbach have also filed for the position.
Grand Island attorney Grady Erickson has filed for the State Board of Education to oppose incumbent Sherry Jones.
