The National Weather Service-Hastings has announced a Tornado Watch and Severe Thunderstorm Warning for areas of central Nebraska.

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 7 p.m. Friday, April 26 for the following counties:

Adams, Antelope, Boone, Buffalo, Burt, Butler, Cass, Cedar, Clay, Colfax, Cuming, Dakota, Dixon, Dodge, Douglas, Filmore, Gage, Garfield, Greeley, Hall, Hamilton, Holt, Howard, Jefferson, Johnson, Kearney, Knox, Lancaster, Madison, Merrick, Nance, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Pierce, Platte, Polk, Richardson, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders, Seward, Sherman, Stanton, Thayer, Thurston, Valley, Washington, Wayne, Wheeler, and York.

A tornado was seen by a trained spotter north of Ravenna and briefly made ground contact before dissipating.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Adams, Buffalo, Hall, and Kearney counties until 2:15pm. According to the NWS-Hastings, at 1:24pm a severe thunderstorm was located near Gibbon, or 10 miles east of Kearney moving at 30mph. Hail damage is expected. This warning is also includes between Interstate 80 mile marker 277 and 307.
